September is National Sewing Month

While I do not posess a sewing machine, I do posess an appreciation of talented seamers and seamstresses who craft lovely hues and fabrics in the name of fashion. In honor of the occasion, I have vowed to embrace my own needlecraft abilities. The yarn that sits neatly arranged in my clear shelf will now become my good habit. I WILL CROCHET SOMETHING this month. I’ve been feeling the urge, a teasing compulsion, to pick up the glittered crochet hooks and make something oddly adorable for some time now. So what better time to get crackin’.

I found free sewing classes at my local JoAnn’s and I encourage all of you to do something in the name of “handmade”.

This will be an act of self love for me, my birthday is smack dab in the middle of this month and I’m holding myself accountable for all the joy I can squeeze out of it.

I’m so excited and truly my intentions are good….”Oh, Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood”.

CRAFTERS UNITE (besides, winter is coming)!

Save The English Language!
The editors of Oxford University Press and the Oxford English Dictionary are concerned about all of the wonderful words in English that are ‘disappearing’ from the language from lack of use.
So, they’ve come up with a great solution: Adopt a Word.
It’s free to adopt a word, the words are old and weird and fun to use, you can buy a t-shirt with your word on it (only if you wish; it’s not a requirement), and you can choose your adopted word!
All you agree to, in adopting your word, is to use it! You can spray paint it on a wall, use it in a meeting, win a game of Scrabble with it, or even walk around town wearing a sign-board/sandwich-board with your word on it! (Or, you could wear the aforementioned t-shirt, if you want!)
I adopted the word foppotee, which is appropriate here, since only a simpleton wouldn’t want to adopt a word and help save the English language, right?

I’ve decided to adopt the word locution. (look it up, don’t be lazy o_0)
